Training in Pepperstown

There is training in Pepperstown on Wednesday evenings during the summer at 6.30pm until dark. There is a €3 charge per person for the use of this facility. This is for club members with their own bows.

Cúchulainn Archery Competition

Cúchulainn Archers hosted a Double FITA Star competition recently in Summerhill archery grounds on the 30th and 31st of July 2011. The turn-out was reasonably good considering it was the Bank Holiday weekend. The judge gave us full marks for our handling of the event. A more complete report is to follow.

Ardee Turfman Festival 2011

The club was invited by the committee of the Ardee Turfman Festival to host archery "have-a-go" sessions for the Sunday and Monday of the August Bank Holiday weekend. The club set up two targets in a cordoned off area of the car park by the Cúchulainn statue in the town. Over the two days over 200 people had a go at archery after a quick introduction by some members of the club. The sessions were ably publicised by our "acting" PRO, Shona, who gave a radio interview to LMFM describing who we are and what we were doing. Thanks to all members who volunteered of their time on the days. Special thanks also to Brian Evans for organising the event and liaising with the festival committee and Larry Durrigan for the use of his trailer to transport the butts and his support during the days (he's now an expert arrow-puller!).
